FAQs
About the apartments
A serviced apartment is a flexible living solution created for professionals who need more than a standard hotel room. Also known as corporate accommodation, it offers a private, fully furnished space where guests can live, work, and relax comfortably during their stay.
Unlike traditional hotels, serviced apartments provide separate areas for cooking, working, and sleeping, along with a private bathroom, giving guests the freedom and space to maintain their usual routine. This makes them ideal for both short business trips and extended relocations.
The stay typically includes essential services such as regular housekeeping and reliable Wi-Fi, all built into the rate. Some serviced apartments also sit within professionally managed buildings that offer added conveniences like 24/7 reception, concierge support, shared workspaces, fitness centres, and leisure facilities.
Serviced apartments come in a variety of formats, each offering a different balance of privacy, services, and on-site amenities. At OnePlace, the most common types include:
- Dedicated serviced apartment buildings
These purpose-built properties are made up exclusively of service apartments and are professionally managed throughout. Guests typically benefit from on-site reception or concierge services, offering added convenience, security, and support during their stay.
- Aparthotels
Aparthotels blend the independence of apartment living with the services and facilities of a hotel. Guests stay in self-contained apartments while enjoying access to hotel-style amenities such as 24-hour reception, restaurants and bars, meeting and conference spaces, fitness centres, leisure facilities, parking, and sometimes on-site retail.
- Individual serviced apartments
These are self-contained apartments located within residential buildings and operated either by a serviced apartment provider or a private landlord. They offer a more residential feel, with greater privacy and fewer shared facilities, making them ideal for guests seeking a quieter, home-like environment.
Unlike Airbnb, which often features individual landlords and privately managed properties, OnePlace works exclusively with established serviced apartment providers and professional operators. Most of our apartments are quality-accredited or independently vetted, ensuring a consistently high standard across every property.
Choosing OnePlace means you can expect:
- Consistent quality and service – each apartment meets strict standards for comfort, safety, and cleanliness
- Reliable safety and security – all providers have dedicated emergency procedures, including 24-hour reception or a 24-hour emergency line
- Regular maintenance and housekeeping – properties are professionally serviced to maintain high standards throughout your stay
With OnePlace, you get the reassurance of a professional, well-managed apartment experience, tailored for business and extended stays, without the uncertainty that can come with privately listed properties.
While every serviced apartment is unique, there are certain essentials you can expect in all OnePlace properties. Most apartments include:
- A fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette
- A comfortable living or sitting area
- A private sleeping area
- One or more bathrooms
- Free Wi-Fi and often a TV with a standard channel package
Many apartments go beyond the basics, offering extra amenities depending on the property. You can check the full list of facilities for each apartment under the 'Facilities' tab on its OnePlace listing, or speak with our team when making an enquiry.
Inside your apartment, you'll find everything needed for a home-like experience, including:

At OnePlace, we aim to ensure your apartment feels fully functional, comfortable, and ready for both work and relaxation from the moment you arrive.

Many apartments also offer added conveniences, depending on the property:

- Baby equipment – cribs and baby cots may be available, sometimes free or for a small additional charge
- Cooling fans – included at no extra cost, while portable air conditioning units may be available for an additional fee
- Emergency support – a 24-hour emergency line is available at most properties for issues such as lockouts, flooding, or lack of hot water

Booking process
Yes. At OnePlace, flexibility is built into the way we work. We recognise that corporate projects, assignments, and travel plans can change, often with little notice.
That's why our accommodation solutions are designed to adapt alongside your schedule.
Our corporate rentals allow you to start with a shorter stay and extend as needed, subject to availability, without the constraints of fixed, long-term leases. This approach makes it easier to manage relocations, project-based work, and evolving business requirements, while providing a reliable and comfortable base throughout your stay.
If you're planning an extended corporate visit, our team will help structure a stay that aligns with your timeline and mobility needs.
Yes, OnePlace offers a selection of pet-friendly serviced apartments designed to keep both you and your pet comfortable throughout your stay. We know that pets are part of the family, and travelling without them isn't always an option—so we make it easier to bring them along.
Many of our pet-friendly apartments offer generous living space and are conveniently located near parks, green spaces, and walking routes, making them ideal for daily routines with your pet. Pet policies, permissions, and any associated fees vary by property, so please ensure you familiarize yourself clearly about the full fees before booking.
At OnePlace, we curate stays that work for every member of your household—pets included. Get in touch with our team to find the right pet-friendly apartment for your stay.
Smoking is generally not permitted inside serviced apartments to maintain a comfortable environment for all guests. However, some properties provide designated smoking areas or private outdoor spaces.
If smoking access is important, let the OnePlace team know when making your enquiry. We can help you find a suitable apartment in the UK or abroad, including options with balconies, terraces, or outdoor spaces where smoking is allowed.
Some properties may request a security deposit, typically ranging from £250 to £500. This amount can be higher for group bookings, stays with pets, or extended stays. If a deposit applies, you will be informed during the booking process.
For most corporate bookings, a deposit is usually not required. Instead, companies may provide a letter of guarantee to cover potential damages or guest-related issues, such as smoking indoors, late check-out, noise complaints, excessive cleaning requirements, missing keys, misusing the property, etc. The terms of the booking and house rules will be communicated directly by the property.
Check-in procedures can vary depending on the property, ensuring flexibility and convenience for every guest. Common options include:
- 24-hour reception or concierge – similar to a hotel, allowing you to arrive at any time
- Meet and greet – a property representative will welcome you at a pre-arranged time
- Self check-in – secure codes provide access to the building and your apartment keys
- Off-site key collection – keys can be picked up from a location separate from the apartment
Standard check-in times typically begin from 3:00 PM, though this may vary by property. Full details of your check-in procedure will be provided by the OnePlace Account Management team when your booking is confirmed, so you can plan your arrival with ease.
Requesting changes to your booking
Early check-in may be possible at many OnePlace apartments, but it must be requested in advance—typically at least 24 hours before your arrival and during the office hours of the local property provider (usually Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, excluding bank holidays).
To guarantee an early check-in, you may be asked to book the night before, subject to availability. At properties with a reception or concierge, luggage storage is often available, allowing you to drop off your bags and explore the area while your apartment is prepared.
Our Account Management team can guide you through the options and help arrange early access wherever possible, ensuring a smooth start to your stay.
Late check-out may be available at many OnePlace apartments, but it must be requested in advance—usually at least 24 hours before your departure and during the property's office hours.
To guarantee a late check-out, an additional fee may apply, and approval is always subject to apartment availability. At properties with a reception or concierge, luggage storage is often available, allowing you to leave your belongings safely while you finish your day.
Our team can assist with arranging late check-out wherever possible, ensuring a smooth and convenient departure.
Cancellation terms vary by property and are determined by the individual property. Each apartment has a specified notice period that applies both before arrival and, in some cases, after check-in, allowing changes or cancellations without penalty when sufficient notice is given.
Full cancellation details are clearly outlined in your booking confirmation or when you send your request.
Extending your stay with OnePlace is designed to be straightforward and stress-free. If your plans change, simply reach out to your booked property and put an extension request through.
If an extension is possible, your booking will be updated seamlessly. Should your existing apartment be unavailable, you can search our site for nearby properties and contact individual apartments, or simply put a new bid out and wait for matching results to come through.
At OnePlace, flexibility and guest comfort are at the core of what we do, and our team is always on hand to make adjustments as smooth and convenient as possible.
